The YubiKey NFC and NEO Companion app is designed to facilitate the copying of One-time-passcodes (OTPs) or static passwords from a YubiKey onto the iOS clipboard.
For optimal functionality, the app requires the following:
- An iPhone that supports NFC technology, such as Apple Pay's "tap to pay"
- iOS version 11 or later
- A YubiKey NFC or NEO token (excluding v4, nano-size tokens, U2F keys, or other types)
- The YubiKey must be programmed with a "Yubico OTP," "OATH-HOTP," or "Static password" in Configuration Slot 1
Usage Instructions:
- Launch the app
- A dialog prompting you to "Hold YubiKey near the top edge of iPhone" will appear
- Place your YubiKey against the top edge of the phone until a beep is heard
- If enabled, the OTP or static password will be visible on-screen
- You can select "Copy OTP to Clipboard" or utilize the "Auto Copy" feature for automatic clipboard saving
Additional Information:
- iOS API restrictions prevent NFC scanning while the app is closed or running in the background
- Upon successful scan, a brief "Scan success" dialog will display for approximately 2 seconds
